In the 14th Sept Meeting of Parliament, while discussing issues relating to the distribution of high speed broadband, Cabinet Secretary Fergus Ewing MSP noted the success of TVWS deployment in Orkney.

Speaking in response to Kenneth Gibson MSP, Mr. Ewing stated that “reaching 100 per cent superfast coverage will involve a mix of technologies and delivery models  … including TV white space, which is currently being trialed in Orkney as part of the Scottish Government’s demonstrating digital programme.”

The Centre for White Space Communication has been actively involved with this project since June 2015.
